What we're meaning by meta is an essay or discussion questions about the topics given. These are intended as starting points to discussion amongst people interested in that particular topic.
Say, perhaps, you are interested in Ray Kowalski As Hero, so you read the essay Sage has written and then think of examples she has missed, or things that you interpret differently - you can comment to the post to tell her about it. She, and other readers will then have the chance to comment on your comments.
Many of the topics above are actual panels at MJ. The muskratjamboree mods were invited to submit meta (essays, discussion questions, handouts...) so that we could hold concurrent discussions here. For some that hasn't been possible - other commitments etc. But we don't want to remove those topics from the schedule - we think they're worthy of discussion. So a post will be opened at the relevant time for each one, giving the title and possibly one or two questions. It's up to people interested in the topic to get the discussion going.
