replying to thewatch: the Firefly cast: cookie dough! Made out of protein! I think that Buffy is an experiment in having a hero who really isn't always nice. In fact one reason why a lot of people--me included--weren't happy with S7 is that in a lot of ways the experience of command made Buffy worse instead of better.
I did enjoy Finding Serenity, but I think it could have been a lot solider and more thoughtful. And I think KRAD went way overboard. Yeah, I think that Serenity the Pilot is a lot better than The Train Job as a pilot, or as a TV show, but he carries on like The Train Job ate his puppy with fava beans and a nice Chianti.
I'm crazy about the Firefly Visual Companion v1 and will definitely buy v2 when it comes out next month.
Another Blakes7 fan pointed out that Leonard Cohen is the official songwriter of B7 and since the atmosphere of Firefly is so similar, it stands to reason that it would work for Firefly too.
And if I wrote a Mal idol_reflection, it would definitely be called "Like a Bird on a Wire," or if I could vid I'd do a Mal vid to that song. Especially the Willie Nelson version.
